FUE for curly hair

I’m 62 and considering a hair transplant in Turkey. I have three friends who have had the procedure done in two different clinics over there and the results 2 years later haven’t been great. They both have a lower hairline but have lost more hair on the crown. I’ve also been told that my curtly hair - not Afro but tight curls- isn’t suitable for an FUE method but my current research suggests that improved techniques and tools means that it may be OK. I also suffer from keloid scarring. The clinic in I’m thinking of using is the Vera clinic. Should I go ahead and have the procedure or grow older gracefully?
Thanks in advance

Do you have any pictures you can share? Some clinics are good at curly hair FUE.

No pictures yet because I’m still in the research phase and my hair is so short right now that it’s not even curly

Try to get some in person consultations. Ask to speak with former patients that have your hair characteristic's.

Whatever clinics you talk with ask to see examples of grown out results with similar hair characteristics to yourself, if possible see in person, as many clinics have international clients today. Also, if a clinic has multiple doctors, confirm the results are from which doctor. This includes how they approach the potential of keloid scarring.

That’s great advice thank you

I’ve asked them and they say that they cannot provide any due to confidentiality reasons but they do have the best reviews on Truspilot

In any situation, and especially in yours, when you are prone to keloid, you need to see evidence a clinic has experience in treating firstly curly hair, hardly an outlier in hair characteristics, and keloid scarring. It´s not much to ask, especially with the number of surgeries they perform, they cannot find one even similar.

These star type reviews offer nothing to someone seriously researching a hair transplant. They are often written within a week or so of the surgery, so meaningless as to a result, and utterly anecdotal. Also, who's to say the author has anything like the concerns and standards you have. I wouldn´t be surprised if you could take time to search back on this forum you may find cases similar to yourself they may help you in your research.
