Getting a hair cut following a HT

Hi all,
I was wondering what people have done in the past about approaching getting your hair cut following a HT. I am now 3 months post op (will update pics soon) and have started to see some growth. I probably wont go to a barbers until I have achieved more growth but was just wondering what the vibe is on this. Did you confide to your hair dresser that you have had a procedure? If not did they ever comment on anything e.g the scar? Thanks.

I never told the barber I had any work done, if you have an ok scar get it cut to a number 5 which is short but long enough to conceal a scar.I have never had any of them comment either, even if they did notice my scars they kept quiet.

I was afraid of this too, but I just went to a barbers out of town and was honest the first time, she said she would not have know if I hadn't told her about the ht. That gave me the confidence to go to my local barber who has never mentioned anything. If you are overly concerned you could get a mobile hairdresser to come to the house the first few times.

I wouldn't panick though as I'm sure the initial hang up Is just in our heads and the barbers are used to all sorts.

I think you should tell your barber especially if you had strip so they can cut your hair in the best style as to not going to short to avoid the scar. From personal experience I used not to them them and years ago for no reason they buzzed down too short and the scar was clearly visible. Believe me this made me far more anxious for around a week than telling them one off that you have a scar from a transplant so please don't take it down too short.

Did you end up going to the barbers Duffman? Garageland raises a good point in not going too short.....if you do and your conscious about the scar then your not going to be happy for a while. until it regrows. I would go for a grade 5 too as BM says to be safe.
