Growth stimulants

Hi.

Does anyone know of any effective growth stimulants besides minoxidil? I've been taking finasteride for nearly 10 years and, while I would say it has helped me maintain, I can't say I've seen any regrowth. I never went down the minoxidil route, mainly because I didn't fancy starting another lifetime commitment (that is, in addition to the finasteride). I still have miniaturized hairs at the temples but, while the rest of my hair has continued to grow as normal, they've remained in stasis for nearly a decade. I've tried a few things, like GroMD Shampoo, rosemary oil, etc, but to no avail. Any help is much appreciated.

Hi Tesar, as you know, anything you start will have to be a long commitment. Assuming you are getting an improvement. For most other options, taking minoxidil out of the equation, any benefits are based mainly on anecdotal comments. There are supplements such as zinc and biotin, also called vitamin B₇ you may wish to look at. It´s likely after sustained use of finasteride that is maintaining your hair to a good degree. The miniaturised hair along your hairline. If having a hair transplant it is likely they will be placed over. As the new hair needs to be blended back into your existing hair. Exactly for the reason to cover any weaker hair.

Thanks, NZK Medical. Sadly, that's kind of what I feared. There really is only a handful of reliable treatments, and they are preventative rather than restorative.
