Hello Everyone

Hope you doing well.

Posting this after reading comments & really concerned about my shock hair loss on my doner area back of my head on my left hand side.

Its been 2months & on my doner area hair hasn't come back yet & I am applying minoxidil daily twice & its really concerning to me & I'm really embarrassed to out. Please do you know how many months it takes to regrow the hair on doner hair? I send the message to my clinic which is in Turkey & the clinic ask me not to worried. As per clinic it'll take up to 6months to hair regrow on my doner area.

How many months it take to regrow hair on doner hair? Would be much appreciated if anyone who was in the same situation reply & post the photos of hair shock loss on doner area before & after. See my hair before & after hair shock loss on doner area.

Thank you

Hi @zain , sorry to see you in this position. Shock loss is slightly unpredictable in how long it takes to regrow, however, it can take a few months, meaning 3-4 to start. Keep on with the minox twice a day.

Do you know how many grafts they extracted from the area? Also over the recipient, mainly mid and vertex, you appear to have small circular like areas of thinning or lower hair density. Where these there prior to your hair transplant, they do not resemble a natural pattern of MPB.

Hi Zain.
I have seen some cases where shock loss has taken 6 months to recover. It is unfortunate they you are experiencing this but do keep up with what you're doing to help it recover quicker.
How many grafts did you have extracted? Do you have any pictures from the day of surgery?

The term "hair shock loss on the donor area" describes the transient loss of hair from the region where hair follicles were removed after a hair transplant procedure. The harvesting procedure has the potential to separate blood capillaries, which might "shock" the surrounding hair and result in its temporary loss. This usually begins a few weeks following surgery.

Oh no. How is this looking now? It appears you may have alopecia areata an auto immune disease which causes patchy hair loss. Did you consult with the surgeon before booking? What did they say in the consultation??
