The important thing to remember is that many medicines contain gluten in them. And unknown to the patient and doctors alike, those gluten containing medicines would be doing immense damage to the body.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

In times of Covid 19 pandemic, a small but important 1st step would be to educate about gluten free medicines.

For example medicines for Cough, Cold and flu can be seen at the following link

Many of them are currently not available in India so we are compiling an alternate database of the same in India.

An excerpt from the above link
" There's a dizzying array of different cough, cold, and flu products available over-the-counter, and each seems to have its own formula. However, these medications mostly rely on combinations of the same seven basic ingredients:

* acetaminophen, a [pain reliever](https://www.verywellfit.com/gluten-free-pain-relievers-562382) and fever reducer
* pseudoephedrine HCI, a nasal decongestant (non-drowsy)
* chlorpheniramine maleate, an antihistamine (may make you drowsy)
* doxylamine succinate, an antihistamine (may make you drowsy)
* diphenhydramine HCl, an antihistamine (may make you drowsy)
* dextromethorphan HBr, a cough suppressant
* guaifenesin, a mucus thinner/expectorant

If you look at your symptoms (possibly including pain, fever, nasal congestion, and/or cough), and then look at the ingredients in the products listed, you should be able to identify a gluten-free medication to treat your specific symptoms."

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I hope you found the information useful and plan to incorporate the same in your hair transplant practice.

On a side note - gluten intolerant people are more susceptible to hairloss due to deficiences. So, additional care is needed there too.

Please let us know if you have any questions.
Regards,
Dr. A
