After 2 years of dipping in and out of HT research and flipping back and forth on whether or not it was something I would do. I finally made the decision to proceed based on the results I'd seen from Hattingen Hair. What I saw was people who had a large number of grafts transplanted across the entire top of their scalp, which is what I would need and I was highly impressed by all the results achieved. Plus, any comments I saw online about Hattingen were always positive and that their results were world class.
My own HT was FUE with a total of 4,115 grafts. Approximately 2,000 in the front section, then 1,000 in the mid and another 1,000 back of scalp. I’m extremely pleased with the results, it turned out better than I actually thought would be possible. Pictures are from about 15 months after the procedure and a few days after a hair cut. My HT took place over two days, front the first day, then mid and back on the second. What I wanted to do, was have as much density as possible on top, I didn’t feel the need to bring the hair line lower at the sides. I was 42 when the procedure was done, so some receding at sides, but dense on top, for me kept it looking natural. At the front, the existing hair line was followed and looks completely natural. I have a scar in the front center of my head, some grafts were placed into the scar, to avoid a gap, this also filled in very well. While FUE was my preference, I didn’t actually think it would be possible with the number of grafts I would need. Both FUE and FUT were presented as options and there’s no issue with how my doner area has filled back in.
I use topical minoxidil once per day and red light hat three days a week for 30 mins each time. I can't quantify if either helps or not. I'm not taking any other meds.
