Hotel Hatalonia Brussels, Anyone stayed there before?

hi all
im due for an HT soon, just wondered if anybody here has stayed at the hotel catalonia? and which type of room you would recommend? i was really hoping for a terrace room to let the fresh air to my head..but maybe a single is ok? single would be cheaper i guess, ill be staying for 5 nights..i really dont know which room to pick..

I have stayed at the Catolonia and I €™m not sure that you need a terrace €¦ €¦ €¦ €¦.maybe open a window but it €™s kind of a personal choice. Personally I found it nicer to sit in the lobby and read or just go walking. I can €™t advise you on what you should really do post op but I prefer to do a lot of walking. Keep the lymph fluid moving and the serotonin levels topped off.

Catalonia is perfect for BHR. Got a large double suite last time which was great. Plenty of room. You dont want to be cramped if your holed up for a few days.

No balcony but keep window open for fresh air or go for a wee stroll.

Menu was limited but food was not bad and got room service up.

ok kool, did you go for a walk out into the city center toppcat? or did you just stay around the hotel? maybe a single will ok then, BHR are sorting that out for me as its a bit cheaper through them so they have told me

I have to ask you €¦ €¦ €¦ €¦.do you think maybe Hatalonia was a Freudian slip €¦ €¦ €¦ €¦.I don €™t expect an answer but it did make me laugh. I would set off in one direction and pay attention to landmarks especially when I was crossing an intersection that was more than a 4 ways. The streets there tend to wind unlike Chicago which is a grid system making it virtually impossible to get lost. I would walk about an hour or so in that same direction and then head back. Then choose a different direction the next day. I suppose if you carry a smart phone you could use the GPS. There a couple of larger grocery stores about 20 minutes or so away and a couple smaller ones right down the street. Good to pick up some bottle water and food if you choose.

I made a mistake with saying hatalonia! but seeing as us HT bunch all need to wear head gear there I think will leave as it is! yes I think I will leave the hotel for a bit too..must be pretty boring hanging around there!
