low level laser hair treatment

Hello

I'm in my late 30's and have hair loss at my temples. It is getting worse but at a slow rate.

I was wondering if anyone on this website had experience of low level laser therapy for hair loss? I've been looking into the halo elite system and I have had a consultation and I am seriously considering proceeding. I had a free consultation where my scalp was photographed with a 20x magnification microscope. They showed me the dead hair follicles, the miniaturised hair follices and the healthy ones. They said that within 18 months of treatment I coudl expect my hair loss to be stabilised and for many of the miniaturised hair follicles to be back to a regular growing cycle. They did not say new hairs would grow.Indeed they said it is very difficult to regrow hair at the temples (in their experience).

I was wondering if anyone on this website had tried the treatment? I would be interested in your experiences

thanks

Low level laser therapy is not really an effective therapy for hairloss and regrowth.

Although there are studies around that when used primarly as a post transplant tool it helps with preventing shockloss. Helping newly planted follicles grow without shedding. And also reducing and helping heal post op redness.

I used the hairmax laser comb myself post op and whether it helped or not or just my physiology. I healed seriously quickly with next to no redness post op.

Ive seen others say the same. You could get a hairmax comb online for a decent enough price. In saying that i would not extra pay money to a clinic to go in for such treatment.

Hi there,

Right now, I am halfway through my year course of low level laser treatment. It took about three months for any hair to grow, and after about four months I had a pretty horrifying bout of shedding, where I lost about half the hair I had before I started LLT.

Now, my spots are starting to grow in, but it is going very slowly. When I had a checkup a few months ago to see my progress, the technician said she did not see any empty follicles, so she said new hair is probably growing in place where hair fell out during the shedding process.

Treatment of unwanted facial and body hair is common practice using laser technology. The marketing and hype about it however frequently is ahead of the actual science and biology of hair growth.

For years laser hair growth treatments were always performed by specialists in a series of sessions that could cost anywhere from $80-$2000 depending on the number of sessions you need. Now, we are fortunate to have the options of trying at home low level laser hair therapy, with the use of laser hair combs.
