Minoxidil + Fin recommendations

Hi guys,

So I’ve been using Minoxidil 6% with 0.4% (I think it was) Finasteride topical solution over the last 2 years. However the clinic I purchase from have stopped supplying it and only supppy Minoxidil 5%. Apparently it was due to ill informed information on social media that meant people were using it incorrectly and then experiencing side effects?

Anyway, I’m using the 5% minoxidil for now but wonder if the effects aren’t as good as the 6% with 0.4% fin, although my hair doesn’t seem too bad.

I’m looking for recommendations on where to source some Minoxidil 6% with Fin - basically the best combination possible (I know some solutions have Vit A in them too)?

I’m based in the UK. There are quite a few websites that do various combinations so hoping I can get further info on which are the most reputable/trustworthy. Or if there are any clinics I can purchase from.

Also a side Q - is it true using minoxidil only works for 2 years and then doesn’t? Seen it mentioned a couple of times so just wondered.

I believe Hims sell 6%. I don’t think you’d notice much difference dropping to 5%.

Thanks. How about anywhere I can source Min 6% with 0.4% fin? As some have shown that’s the most effective combination?

Also after 2yrs Min isn’t as effective? Is that true?

I have not heard it is nit as effective after 2 years. You probably need to reach out to a clinic/componany that compounds their own medications to get what you want. Who was the your previous supplier?

Ah ok, I just came across a few comments on this forum whilst scrolling through that’s why it got me thinking.

I still get mine from Este medical. They stoped supplying Min 6% with 0.4% fin, this is their response when I asked why:

In regard's to the Minoxidil 6% Finasteride, we as a company took the necessary steps to not manufacture this anymore due to official government guidelines we received.

This was because of a rise of the public receiving ill-informed advice from social media and the internet, this resulted to the use of it being used incorrectly then complaints of side effects.

The doses we offered were safe and were advised topically rather orally, however it was concluded we will no longer move forward with the Minoxidil 6%.”
