Minoxidil for beard - will it cause heart problems?

Hello all, first time posting here.

I'm wondering if topical minoxidil (liquid or foam) can cause heart problems or affect your blood pressure or anything like that?

I have a big patch on one side of my beard. I'm in my 30s. My one side grows in pretty decently except for a very small spot, but the other side has a huge patch which makes me not want to grow my beard out.

I've been thinking about trying minoxidil to fill in these patches but I've also heard that heart problems and blood pressure issues are possible.

Has anyone had these issues with these products? I already deal with anxiety so the last thing I need is heart issues and whatnot.

I really wouldn’t have thought so but I am not a doctor.

That’s more of a side effect of oral minoxidil but even then is not that likely. I have taken both in the past and only oral now. From topical you’d be very unlikely to get heart problems. It’s a over the counter medication with no need for prescription so it’s not that harmful but speak with a doctor or trichologist if you are worried
