Could anyone help me out here.I had a hair transplant 2 weeks ago. l was told to use Minoxidil after 15 days on my transplanted hairs. My hair hasn't started shedding and is growing. and yes l know its early and still a chance of shedding. l had direct fue using an implantation pen. and its less trauma to the hair graft and lessens the chances of shedding. l have never used Minoxidil before and it said besides stimulating hair and speeding up growth. it can also cause shedding with some people. l take Dutasteride and biotin tablets along with multi vitamins and cod liver oil daily.

The logic is minoxidil should increase blood flow. As you say, that should increase hair growth and some say, survival rate.

Personally, I don’t think it’s required for a high survival rate. However, I would follow whatever recommendation my surgeon gave.

In terms of shedding, you can but hope. That said, I’d expect shedding in the next couple of weeks.

I’m not a big fan of using minoxidil a few weeks post-op if you weren’t using it prior to your surgery.
The topical solution can cause scalp irritation.
Your transplanted hair will grow just fine without it.

Bm has mentioned the no alcohol versions before which I think will be a better option if you do decide to try it.

Do you think you will use it or leave it to the natural process?
