No shave FUE ?

Is there anybody who has had non shaven FUE ?
would love to here there journey and to find out how successfully this procedure is.

That would be great to look at bigmac.
I’m so desperate to have a procedure but find it so difficult to commit to the whole shaving etc. I wasn’t really aware of this non shave option up until recently . So would love to hear more about it.

I really was not aware of this procedure.
Forgive my ignorance !
so the hair is removed at full length ?
Then they are put in the required area at a shorter length ?
they then shed ?

Asmed were offering long hair Fue.
For this procedure 10 -20 individual hairs are cut short, near to the scalp, then they are extracted. You can see them cutting the hairs at the beginning.
Then another batch cut down and extracted.
Repeated until the numbers are reached.
It’s very time consuming for the people who do it,

So I presume much more expensive?
and also only suited for small procedures.
Sounds a fantastic way to avoid the full shave method for those like myself who would find that really difficult

Other similar method were to lift the long donor up and shave down strips/lengths of hair which was then covered over by the longer hair. I had this method as well.
The first method does require a lot more time and high magnification loupes to see amongst the hair.
Depending on how many grafts you need, it could be an option.
Pro hair posted a 1350 graft case. It would be worth asking them what is the biggest surgery they’ll do. It may take a few consecutive days.

I would imagine it’s perfect for folk like myself who really would struggle with having my whole head shaved. It really would not suit me !
However I think I would need far to many grafts to use this option and the cost would be much higher.

Here is my opinion on No shave FUE.


When FUE started around 2003 the sessions were also quite small, about 500-1000 grafts per day.
Many Drs told me that it would never become a procedure that would replace FUT in terms of numbers.

Now, about 18 years later 2000-3000 grafts /day FUE sessions have become quite accepted.

Furthermore, all the records concerning the total amount of grafts transplanted over multiple sessions have been performed using FUE.
I believe the record is around 11000 grafts, but I am not 100% sure who did it.

No shave FUE will have its place since there are still quite some people that find it just too difficult to shave down.
No shave will therefore be a solution for those that are looking to address their hair problem, even it will take multiple sessions and cost more.

Eventually, we will also start seeing 1500+ / Day FUE no shave and who knows even more as teams are developing specialized routines.

We have set up a second team in our clinic that will be doing virtually 100% No shave FUE transplantation.
