Noticed this level of thinning when putting up my hair, is this normal?

I normally wear my hair down as i have long hair and it's heavy on my head, but recently did a half up half down hairstyle and noticed this leven of thinning and it looks so bad. I tried scanning my hair with this app called myhair and my hair count is healthy but it still looks bad, is this normal or should i worry?

Hello @puzhedai, it´s not possible to judge if your hair has changed without a comparison. This may be your natural hair coverage/density. If you pull your hair back on a constant basis and relatively tightly you increase the risk of traction alopecia. This can certainly result in the hair growth thinning, or the hair quality reducing and the scalp becoming more visible. So, if the case, be more cautious how you style. If minimal "damage" has occurred, it can, to a degree, reverse itself, but you will need to be patient as the hair needs to go through a hair cycle or two.

I usually always have my hair down because it's heavy when i have it in a bun, so that's why i got scared when i saw this when i put my hair in this hairstyle... I don't have any before pic because it's always down :'(

It could be perfectly natural, overtime our hair changes, for instance the hair becoming slightly finer, and it doesn´t take much of a difference to be noticeable. If you are concerned maybe chat with female family members, see if others experienced similar. May be a blood test, especially if there is a hormone related condition in your family, although judging from your picture you would be very young for anything like that. Nothing wrong with doing a little research, but, the chance is there is nothing to be concerned about. Good luck.
