I did FUE hair transplant 14 months ago in a Harley Street London clinic. I had 3000 grafts done. My hair hasnt grown at all, there is no difference between before the surgery and after and I have to say my hair is falling ouy even more now!!! But my problem is that my scalp is tender and as soon as I touch it it becomes very red, also if I do any kind of physical exercise my scalp will become red, numb and tingly and it will stay like that for a week, same if I am exposed to heat, wind or sun!!I cant live anymore, I have been to numerous dermatolists and they gave me medicated shampoos that di nothing!! now my original surgeon has refereed to a neurolist according to whom I have nerve damage!!!!! he has prescribed Progabalin 75 mg twice a day but after 2 weeks I cant see any difference...my dermatolist keeps saying he thinks it is not nerve damage so I dont know what to think and do! I dont want to take this medication! has anybody else experineced something like this? is nerve damage reversible? I am desperate and i CANT LIVE LIKE THIS ANYMORE :(

Do you have pictures showing your situation?
I dont know if you can see from here, my scalp is red, if I dont touch it the red goes down but as soon as I touch it it will feel tingly and red and numb...also when I exercise or bend my head forward or when I move my hair, same thing, redness and tingly! I dont have pustules or spots and it is not itchy

It looks thin in that picture. Any more pictures from the transplant day and a better one showing the result? Bm will probably give some good advice.

there is no change in hair growth before and after the surgery and my hair is very thin...my problem anyway is my scalp at the moment and the redness and pain, I am scare it could be nerve damage

I don’t think nerve damage would only show up 14 months later.

I also would t think nerve damage is something that goes away so have you had this ever since the hair transplant or is it more recent?

I had it since after the FUE and it has never gone away

Have you been to see your GP?

They probably wont know what it is but guessing you are UK so they should be able to refer you to people on the NHS rather than going around in circles. They should at least be able to answer on what nerve damage would feel like for you and if it sounds like you have it

Camon man! Shit happens to all of us. Some people burn without arms and legs. Some people are getting older each year by 10 years like Hasbulla. Be strong. It is your path and your dragons whisch you need to kill. How old are you?

You’ll need to add more pictures from your surgery. Pre and immediate post-op.
If nothing grew then it was either a poor surgery, you have an underlying condition or you fall into the small percentage where the transplant fails for unknown reasons.

How exactly did the neurologist determine it is nerve damage? Do you have a copy of the report? You can blank out any personal information and post it.

The Clinic where I had the FUE done didnt really care for him afterwards...they kept saying that everything will go away and that I had to wait....only when I went to a dermatologist on my own, he contacted the clinicn and told her that more needed to be done, so they arranged a meeting with a neurologist and when I saw him he just looked at me for a few minutes and said it was nerve damage and prescrived me the medication....no report was issued or anything...my problem at the moment is just the pain in my head, not the failed surgery as I cant live with this pain....as soon as I touch my scalp it becomes red and inflamed, same when I brush my hair or do some form of exercise or stay in the sun or wind...it is unberable, it has been 14 months and I fear the nerve damage is permanent and will never go away...I just wanted to see if there is anybody else who has experience similat things and if they were able to get some treatment...

Seems odd that a medical professional would not provide you with your medical assessment. He says it’s nerve damage, what did he say is the redness? No biopsy taken.
It could be scarring alopecia or LPP.
Will you add some pictures showing your surgery?

I don't see anything in this photo that depicts redness. Wonder what is going on with this guy.

How common is to get nerv damaged?
In general, not common at all and the cases I've known about were from FUT performed by amateurs. I may have heard of an FUE case but it was long ago and I don't completely recall any details. I suspect there are other factors at play here but we have a pitifully small amount of information to go on.
