Recommendations for FUE - UK or abroad?

Hi All,
I am sure this topic is discussed in many forums so far, but probably keeps changing.
I am a probably a Norwood 2 (pics attached) looking for FUE. Initially I was looking at Turkey and came across Cosmedica. But have since seen they seem like a hair factory with a high patient turnover.
I am drifting off the Turkey idea and looking at the UK again, but where to start. I live in the North West of England but don't mind travelling to other parts of the country for the right procedure.
There seems to be a debate about the number of grafts needed, Cosmedica wanting to do 3000-4000, but that may be more just a sell. On my initial look at the UK I heard of recommendations for Maitland clinic but it doesn't come cheap, for a 1000 grafts: £5,500, 1500 grafts: £8,250 or 2000 grafts: £11,000.
But I heard mentioned, its what you do with the grafts and it's not necessarily down to the number of grafts?
I am not looking for the cheapest, I am prepared to pay may more for guaranteed quality and something to feel comfortable with.
It is a mind field of clinics out there, so any recommendations would be most welcome - I realise the UK is expensive compared to overseas but I would feel more comfortable at the right place instead of ending up abroad somewhere I am not keen on.
Thanks in advance.

I take it you are wanting to address the front and the crown. It looks as though you could do with 2500-3000 grafts to achieve a desirable result.
What is your age? Have you tried any type of hair loss meds regimen?

Thanks for the info, yes looking at front and crown. I am 50. Loss is slow, looked the same for a long time. Not a fan of meds in general, so would want to avoid if possible.

Have a good look around on here you’ll find some great doctors but you can’t do enough consulting and research before going through with the ht.

At 50 your pattern looks set so you should be an easy fix just make sure you pick a good surgeon

I'm in a similar position to you, Mr Norwood. I thought I'd found my preferred UK surgeon, then saw other reviews that were less positive around UK at all. It is all very confusing. On this forum, Maitland clinic seems to get many positive comments, but is out of my price bracket. Have seen a few clinics in Nottingham that hopefully might provide my answer.

Have you got any further on your preferred surgeon?

I get that price is an issue for some. Dr Ball is quite expensive but some of the best doctors in the world are a short plane journey away in Europe and better priced than the UK

This is a cosmetic surgery that is not deemed necessary by quite a few people so it dies t get the protection some other surgeries do. Don’t take chances with your head and go to someone I heard of just because they are affordable

I've read that for many years the UK had a stigma though now is on par with some of the best in Europe and the US.
