Red eyes from minoxidil.

I've been using minoxidil for a year, on and off. I've tried 4 different brands and for some reason, all of them caused me red eyes. After putting on the minoxidil my eyes become bloodshot, this usually happens about 1 minute after putting on the liquid. I'm using 5% liquid version.

Did anyone have a similar experience, and is there a way to fix this? I don't want to quit minoxidil.
