scalp birthmark pulse dye laser

hello everyone

i know this not really related to hair loss but howsever...i have a portwinestain/stockbite birth mark on my nape and im planning on getting the candella v beam pulsed dye laser to treat it but i have being told 1-it prob wont work because its on my nape and these are usually permanent, 2-it may cause slight thinning of hair on the treated area on scalp..this scares me most as my nape hair is lower density and a small bit finer that the rest of my head

I was wondering has anyone had this laser treatment on their scalp for any reason and did it thin your hair?

Thanks,mars

Nothing more to add..the risk of hair thinning is not worth the risk and nape port wines are permanent so it seems like i would be wasting alot of money too so i will prob just have to live with it its not that bad but it would prefere if it wasnt there, thanks for the reply.

No problem, the risk of my hair thinning furthe would prevent me from doing this.

I had pulse dye laser on my red blotches on my face it hurt and did bugger all. IPL worked though but that also is used for removing hair .

Most of these lasers work by attacking pigment on white skin so it shoots at hairs as well as veins
