Dear readers,
Do you think that the drug Finasteride is given with reckless abandon by doctors, and they should exercise more caution and explain the possible problems or side effects of Finasteride to each patient? --- Choice 1

Or do you think that Finasteride should be prescribed across the board....no need to tell the side effects as the patient may psychologically start getting those side effects. (This is what many doctors feel....not me, of course). ---- Choice 2

Side Note:
Every male elder relative in my family turned bald. My hair thinned but to a much smaller extent. (Suffice to say that I saved them by various non-surgical measures and without Finasteide or Minoxidil or PRP).

Regards,
Dr Capt Arvind Poswal

I'm not sure your survey matches the thread title of whether or not it should be banned.

My 2c is that millions of men use it without any noticeable side effects. The FDA assessment process weighs the benefit against the risks and it was approved. Unless more studies are done that show it's less effective or more risky than the original study, we should leave it well alone.

Merk got the power !
Yes, you say that every time this is mentioned. Lots of genetics are available, so I doubt Meek care about this any more really since they won't make much money from it.

The potential side effects are described on the label, so patients have the information they need.

People are using off label drugs such as dutasteride and oral minoxidyl. I don't understand the obsession with finesteride.
