And in a spooky parallel - her ex boyfriend Jeremy McConnell has just become director of a hair transplant clinic in Turkey, two years on from being jailed for missing his community service to attend the clinic for his own hair transplant and new teeth.
He had been given a suspended sentence for attacking then girlfriend Stephanie and throwing her around "like a ragdoll".
Steph said she decided to have the procedure at the British Hair Clinic because of her "high forehead" and hair loss due to stress in recent years.
As a result, she said, she had been wearing wigs and extensions, but now felt she could wear her hair in different styles.
She recalled "being bullied and called horrible names in school" for her high hairline.
The mum of one couldn't resist taking a jab at Jeremy's chosen hair clinic, as she blasted facilities abroad.
"A couple of my friends went abroad for surgery and didn't get the results they wanted nor the aftercare so I am so grateful I could find a suitable clinic in the UK", she said.
Steph, who recently got diagnosed with high functioning autism, is taking a break from her Hollyoaks role while she waits for her new hairline to heal and take shape.
Jeremy, who is now expecting a baby with girlfriend Katie McCreath, has become UK director of Hair of Istanbul.
He told The Sun that spending Christmas in jail in 2017 was the "wake up call" that made him realise he needed to get his life back on track.
"I couldn't get any lower", he said.
“I had time to think and reflect on all my mistakes and the bad decisions I had made in my life, I just wanted to become the best version of me.
“Things had to change. I knew I needed time and the right environment to properly rehabilitate.”
He was jailed for 18 weeks in HMP Cardiff having missed eight appointments of his 200 hour community service order.
He only served 34 days of his sentence, but was forced to stay in Wales on electronic tag and probation for a further 12 months afterwards.
