Good morning folks
Having perused the forums it would seem that the above mentioned Hair Dr in Leeds has sub par reviews. Granted Dr Arshad appears to have completed numerous successful surgeries but my initial findings would suggest that the bad outweigh the good.
Bit of background - I had a hair transplant at this surgery myself and I would describe my result as being okay but not great. Satisfactory, if you will. Whilst neither side of my temples are particularly dense one is substantially thicker than the other. One side is very wispy, a moderate breeze and it could be gone.
I''m noticing a pattern in reviews of this clinic in that folks are being quoted a number of hair grafts, firstly via their online graft calculator and then secondly by video call, and on the day of the surgery are being told that they require further grafts and are given the option to pay extra.
This happened to me and a friend of mine and has left a practically bitter taste in my mouth. How frustrating to be twice quoted a specific number of grafts and then on the day of the surgery be told that the result would be "thin" without further grafts. Just for reference, I put on their graft calculator that I was completely bald at the front of my head (I was not) and the calculator said 2000 grafts.
Frustratingly I felt I had very limited options here as I certainly didn't have the finances to pay for more - the first option being to walk away and risk losing the majority of my money as per the clinics cancellation policy. The second option being to have the surgery and risk a subpar result. I think it's really poor practice of the clinic and it feels like borderline entrapment. The Dr is allegedly an award winning cosmetic surgeon and whilst I know a photograph can sometimes be hard to get a true idea of a patients needs but surely their experience and expertise should allow the staff to give an accurate estimation at the time of video call.
Ultimately what I am looking to do here is get some honest reviews of the clinic. If you found yourself like me being asked to cough up more money on the day of surgery please tell me. I'm very interested to see what percentage of folks were told they such buy extra grafts and also who's had a bad (or good) transplant at this clinic.
I'm also interested to hear how many of their patients are being offered free repairs.
TIA.
