UK Hair Transplant Clinics

Hi all,

I posted a while back while considering a clinic in Turkey called Sule Hair and got some good advice.

I've started to get a bit hesitant about going to Turkey and have started to look a bit closer to home. I haven't completely discarded the idea of going to Turkey or specifically Sule Hair but know I would be a lot more content having spoken to some clinics in the UK.

Living in Northern Ireland, I have had a consultation with Blackrock and UK Hair Transplant Clinics as they can carry out consultations in Belfast (though the procedure would be in Manchester).

I just wanted to see if anyone had any experience with UK Hair Transplant Clinics? They have good reviews on Trustpilot and the surgical assistant who I had the consultation with seemed knowledgable enough, they advise they are also fully accredited and Government approved, so that assuages some of my fears. However, since my consultation I have been inundated with calls and texts from them and it is starting to feel a bit "salesy". Again, anyone with any experience or advice, it would be greatly appreciated.

I believe Dr Ball from Maitland clinic is considered to be the "best" in UK generally.

Don't be reassured by a clinic just being in UK; it's very possible to be badly botched by a UK clinic, e.g. I was operated on twice by Dr Arshad and the result was disastrous, much worse than I would have gotten in a reputable Turkish clinic. I cannot comment on the specific clinics you mentioned but you should really be having a consultation with the doctor himself.

But the key point is don't assume it's a good clinic just because it is in the UK.

Hi Hemingway, thanks for taking the time to reply and for sharing your own experiences. I mightn't have explained myself right, I'm not assuming that UK equals good clinic, it's more that of going somewhere that is regulated to UK medical standards that reassures me a bit (rightly or wrongly). I intend to speak to a few more clinics, just trying to gather as much of an insight from people like yourself who have experience.

I personally went to Farjo, I cannot recommend them highly enough. Having been operated on by Feriduni in the past as well, I consider Farjo to be one of the best in the world not just the UK.

Hi Hemingway

I saw your results and certainly wouldn't class them as 'disastrous'. The only question mark in your case seems to be whether they should have done the HT in the first place as it doesn't look like your hair had thinned, with the only difference being a slightly lower hairline.

I agree on the point about UK clinic for OP

I've had a few quotes from London clincics now ranging from £2500 upto £9000 ! The difference in approach is quite staggering

First, you can research the clinic online to learn more about their reputation and experience in hair transplant surgery. Check out their website, social media pages, and patient reviews on forums or discussion groups related to hair transplant surgery.

Secondly, you can ask the clinic to provide you with information about their surgical team, including the qualifications and experience of the surgeon who will perform your hair transplant. You can also ask for before and after photos of their previous patients to see the quality of their work.

Regarding the communication, it's not uncommon for clinics to follow up with potential patients after a consultation to answer any additional questions and address any concerns. However, if you feel uncomfortable with the frequency or tone of the communication, it's okay to express your preference for a different communication method or frequency.
