What headwear recommended following FUT to conceal scabs / scar etc.

Hi all
I'm interested to know what type of hats are recommended for the first few weeks following FUT surgery to cover the scabs / scar etc. that will not disturb/damage the new hair grafts.

I'm not normally a hat wearer so would like to know which type I should buy - I was thinking maybe it shouldn't be too tight? or maybe a hoodie wouldn't be suitable either as it doesn't move with the head and therefore might tug on the grafts? Grateful to hear what you have used yourselves that haven't caused any problems with the newly transplanted hair.

thanks
Cooty

If you need to wear one, then a loose fitting baseball type cap works well. Immediately after some of my surgeries I wore a loose bandana and switched to the cap the following day.

Thank you for getting back to me on this Big Mac - I don't wear hats and will only wear one when I have to go out following the surgery to conceal the scabbing / scarring from view as I understand it can be quite unsightly.

Afterwards the look does vary from patient to patient. Some look as though they’ve got a mild case of sunburn while others may look like they’ve been blasted with a shotgun. People usually heal fairly quickly so unless you really need to be out and about you can sit at home without any issues.

Quite a few patients have said they wear a loose peaked hat.
