You may have to wait 18 months for an HT to grow

As stated honestly by the BHR representative on this forum it can take as long as 18 months for a transplant to grow. This shocked me and thought it would be a good topic for discussion.

There are a great many clinics out there suggesting a complete result in six to eight months, a quick search on YouTube confirms this.

If you are going to quote me please be ensure it is accurate, and what I said as I have never mentioned "18 months", I actually said 12 months or so. If you are in the legal profession I would have thought you would be aware of the need to quote accurately.

Verbatim

"With respect to Georgehairline, if the patient can €™t or doesn €™t wish to wait 12 months or so for the result then simply best not to have surgery, as I don €™t know of any clinic of procedure promoting results before that period, and have seen some even saying 12 months or longer." End quote.

Ever seen Liar Liar? Apparently its about a lawyer who constantly told porkies!

Hmmm, wonder if it's based on a true story!!

First off, apologies stephen

Your clinic BHR told your client up to 14 months, and you said 12 months, but either way kinder obviously expected much more much sooner. the chaps depressed who wouldn't be. However i am sure you will take on his case and make sure there is a satisfactory outcome

It's this expectation that i wanted to focus on and if patients had that knowledge it might change their decision

So basically anyone undertaking an HT should expect to wait up to 14 months for a complete result

edit:

What would the average timescale be for a complete result be with BHR?

george, don't think you are making many friends here!

i log-in rarely and have little knowledge of this subject, but you do highlight some interesting points just not in a very nice way!

i actually didn't know that some patients have to wait 14 months and that is an important aspect to consider. however, i would say that having met stephen all i can say that you couldn't meet a more genuine chap and i am a good judge of character. so yes, Kinder does sound quite upset but he is in good hands.

SW, again thanks for the support [I think] and I get your point, I'll try to be alittle 'nicer.'

My aim is to do my research and highlight the areas other people miss in the red mist of optimism, that they have finally found the answer to all their follicular dreams.

There has been progress over the last ten years but in another ten years time today's methods will no doubt be regarded as archaic. That's not to stop people searching for what is achievable right now and going for it.

But best they are armed with all the knowledge available, including the not-so-nice bits.
Waiting up to 14 months isn't too nice and the actual procedures, especially FUT are actually still quite remarkably barbaric.

Stephen, just wondered if had found time to consider the question previously asked? An average timescale would no doubt help many people in their decision making.

"What would the average timescale be for a complete result with BHR?"

I am genuinely interested in this and would welcome other clinics to respond as they must all have the data easily to hand.

This is vitally important to everyone interested in having a hair transplant.

Interestingly, just found/cut/pasted this:

I speak to many guys from various Doc's about their concerns with growth and time scales.

Its vital that guys embarking down the HT road understand that they are not going to get the full result from their HT until
16 / 18 months at least...

If you want to find it just search for 'HT can take 18 months'

Apologies for the delay, I have spent much of the day with a patient, not ours, but he is one month post op and going through a real and serious depression after his op, sad story and gladly not too common, but very real. We spent the day just talking and hopefully helping him through this hard time he's going through.

It effects us all differently and prompted me to write the post I did yesterday a little. As for the question, we are all individuals, no guarantee can be given that all the hair will grow or mature in a specific time and the time we give is around the 12 months stage. We may have posted cases here that have resulted in faster or slower growth.

Approx times at which patients have updated bhr cases, huge percentage 12 months but list below:- 5 months 2, 6 months 4, 7 months 4, 8 months 3, 9 months 1, 10 months 3, 11 months 5 ,12 months 16, 13 months 2, 15 months 1

If you are not prepared to give time then maybe a HT is not right for you, no problem, but you cannot change or manipulate the force of nature and how fast hair wants to grow. That said if you find a doc wishing to guarentee you full growth at a specific time and are happy with them, go with it and look forward to you posting your results.
