My Hair Transplant with Vinci Hair Clinic

Hi Guys,

Just wanted to share my hair transplant journey with you all so here goes!

I'm 23 years old and have always had a high, widowed-peak hairline. At the age of 20 I noticed my hair was starting to receed. As I wore my hair flat I was able to cover the thinning area's over but in my own mind I was always incredibly self-concious. I found this effecting my life in various different ways. For example, I stopped playing football, going swimming, staying over friends' houses and even the extreme of going on holiday!

At the start of this year I decided enough was enough and started looking into hair transplants. After doing around six months of research and looking into different companies, I booked my hair transplant with Vinci Hair Clinic (London). I decided to have my surgery in their Malaga practice and have a few days in the sun as well. I was set to have 2,500 grafts but sticking religiously to my scalp elasticity exercises, 2,800 grafts were able to be extracted.

I will now upload before and after pictures and will post every week for the first month. I will then give monthly updates to let you know how it's going.

If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to get in touch as I realise there is probably a lot of information missed out for this post (mixture of excitement and painkillers!)

Apologies for the poor quality images, however I will endeavour to improve the quality in coming updates.

Attached are pre-op pictures, post-op pictures to follow

23 is considered quite young to have a transplant, however looking at your pre op pictures I can see why you had it done. Your transplanted area looks good. What made you choose this clinic? as I have not heard much about them.

Welcome to the forum, I haven't heard a great deal about this clinic either so look forward to following your progress. Thanks for taking the time to document your procedure on here.

Heal well, BN

Thanks for the good luck messages guys!

The reason I decided to have the procedure done with Vinci Hair Clinic is that after much research and consultations I just felt that they truly did have my best interests at heart. When having my face-to-face consultation, I felt I was talking to someone who genuinely wanted to help and not a 'salesman' as I have encountered in previous consultations. The consultant who I met had previously had a transplant with Vinci, so I could see actual results with my own eyes!

Here is a picture of me at one week post-op! Other than experiencing an awful lot of itchiness in the donor and recipient area, I am feeling great!

The work looks good, but I must echo what someone else said, 23 is far too young, they were unethical to operate on you imho. I did a similar thing when I was your age, your HT looks better than mine did back then though.

It's normal research to meet people that have had a Hair Transplant with the clinic that they are considering, probably better to meet a few patients that you find yourself, rather than the salesperson.

Hopefully you will keep us updated with pics and how you are getting on.

on.

I agree that 23 is on the young side, they should IMHO have waited until you had at least stabilised your loss for longer than 2 months with the meds.

That being said it is still good to have you on the forum and will be equally great to continue to follow your progress because from the pictures provided the work looks nice.

Hi Aj,

The work looks good and should produce a very nice result.

Like others have said, with you being young i would have thought the clinic would have advised you to be on the meds for at least 6 months, hopefully though they will work well for you as you have started them.

Thanks for sharing your story and grow well.

Cheers Bm.

Hi Guys,

Just updating you with my progress, it's been exactly one month since my procedure.

I have healed extremely well, when my hair is styled flat it is impossible to detect any work that has been carried out.

Over the last two weeks I have noticed some considerable shedding of the transplanted hair. I would probably say I have lost around 50/60%. However, I am aware that this is completely natural.

There is nothing else to report at this moment in time and I am just looking forward to getting the next couple of months out of the way.

The pictures are not the best and if you would like to see better quality ones, don't hesitate to ask

Cheers

AJ

Just out of interest guys,

Do you think that having 2800 grafts in the areas I have had it will provide me with similar density to the rest of my hair? My clinic told me that I will get a really nice, dense result but I'm just looking for your opinions (I think I'm at the nervous/anxious/frustrated phase)

Looks like it will be nice, but it won't be as dense as native hair, Hair transplants give the illusion of density, hopefully you will achieve that.
