hi all

im new to the forum but have been a long time reader
I had a hair transplant in 97 with the Norton clinic (not good)
and about 5 years ago started wearing a system
never been 100 per cent happy always checking making sure things looks ok
and wondering if people are looking at my hair. when I first started wearing I had
hair at the front and I got a small piece for the crown and it looked good
but then I started losing more hair.so had to get a topper.
I have been looking at a hair transplant say 3 or 4 inches at the hairline and wear a part system behind it do you thing this could be done

thanks for reading

It could be done but personally I would try for only a Ht, have you any pictures you can post so we can see what tour current situation is.

So sorry to hear about your experience....fortunately things have improved in the HT field since 97 and There is help, i have been in your shoes dude.
If i were you for now i would concentrate solely on getting the hairline and frontal region looking more natural to frame your face properly. A lot will depend on what you donor area is like really but i can assure you that you have come to the right place mate, do some research on here to get an idea of whats possible and what's not. Do you have any pictures of the donor area?

I have seen worse jobs get repaired so i'm pretty sure you can achieve a satisfactory result buddy. Are you using Meds? and how old are you if you don't mind me asking?

A picture of your donor scar would be good, if it's wide maybe you could have it excised out, as Bn says you should first concentrate on getting a natural looking hairline and frontal third coverage, maybe you have enough donor to get a covering on your crown also.

Yes it can be done. Actually at DHI we offer both techniques (hair transplantation and hair systems) and we often combined the two methods for patients like you.

Hi DHI,
Have you a picture of this hair system and a transplant?

I would recommend a hair transplant and SMP combination, with a hair transplant we could create a natural hairline and add minimal density over the scalp so we could then move on to use the SMP in between and allow you to wear your hair to 1 - 2 cm and still look natural and much fuller then it is now.

Hi Buddy

Thanks for putting your story up and posting your pictures ,I would certainly address the hairline and frontal 3rd first its hard to tell what you have in your Donor but you can get that checked , their is members on the forum who have been in the same situation as you so advice is their , I wish you all the best and I would get on the hair loss medications while your doing your research

You appear to have more than enough hair to address the frontal half of your head up to where the hairline is now. A big plus that you have is the hairline looks like it €™s in about the right place not being too low and not at a point where you need to address the frontal temporal triangles so you save donor. Just use hair €¦ €¦ €¦ €¦ €¦.look natural and normal €¦ €¦ €¦ €¦ €¦ €¦.maybe lose the hairpiece and no longer be a slave to your hair. Do not do anything that can possible move you backward as opposed to forward. Take baby steps if necessary.

You always want to make choices that move you in a forward direction so do plenty of research. Good luck to you and you are in very good place as far as a starting point.

I understand what you say about getting shut of the hair piece and you do become a slave to it and maybe I should go down that route .few of my friends don't even no I wear or if they do they are keeping it to them self's lol. ive been impressed with a couple of clinic ive been in touch with .they are 2 of the company's that advertise on this site .but ive also thought about getting in touch with one from Manchester .

Well just take your time €¦ €¦ €¦ €¦ €¦ €¦ €¦.really take your time. You have to understand many have very good experiences that they share but nobody can tell you where not to go. This is a very important point for anyone researching.

I can talk about some of my really bad experiences over the last what €™s going on 30 years now but I can €™t come to a forum and start posting for others not to go there, doesn't work that way. This makes it extremely difficult to do research in a short period of time. Lots of guys think they have it figured out until they realize they didn €™t have it figured out. A lot of people out there need money and they will do anything to get it, one also needs to remember this and not get to caught up in the hype.

I am sure you know what you want to do as far as the hairpiece what I would do might be different €¦ €¦..nothing wrong with that. I would address that frontal half and slowly have that hairpiece made thinner in the front then eventually lose it except for the crown area like you describe. Then I would slowly do the same a thinner and thinner crown piece then lose it. If you have the donor for some thin coverage in the crown area than that might be an option. Anyway that is what I would do, doesn €™t mean you need to do the same. Whatever makes you happiest.

Not another Norton victim, I hate him soooo much! I had the same bad surgery in 1998! Did you also have that asshole Phil Edmonson as your hair/double glazing salesman?
