Vinci Hair Clinic patient
I am 28 years old and a maths teacher at a secondary school.
I first started to notice hair loss around 2-3 years ago. It became increasingly bothering to the point that I was worried about going out in the wind and rain. If I was to stay at a friend s house, I would wake up early to make sure the bald areas were not showing. Hair loss really affected me. I felt ugly and self-conscious. It was really hard for me to lose hair given that none of my family have experienced hair loss.
I started trying various products, caffeine shampoos and vitamins, none of which worked, in fact, they just made my hair dry and in much worse condition.
I didn t feel comfortable discussing my hair loss for a long time, until I finally realised I had to do something about it.
I came across Vinci Hair Clinic when I was 26 and first thinking about having the hair transplant done. I emailed Lisa Collins and explained my situation. Lisa discussed with me all the options that were available to me. There was never any pressure on me to make a decision. It took me another year to finally make an appointment to go for a face to face consultation. By this point, I was in the mind-set that I wanted it done and had researched the medications Lisa had discussed with me previously.
I made an appointment to have my hair transplant on the 20[suP]th[/suP] June 2014 two weeks after this consultation. I also decided to buy 12 months of Minoxidil and Finasteride. I felt comfortable with the decision to go ahead with the treatment, I was treated professionally and the price was extremely good given the difference I knew this would make to my life.
After the procedure, I took very good care of my hair and followed the instructions given to me by the Vinci team very carefully. I was back at work after a week and still able to go on holiday six weeks later. After about 2 months, the new hairs were growing. This was a huge relief that I knew my transplant was working, suddenly I was no longer embarrassed to have had a hair transplant and I was now proud of what I had achieved.
After I was able to wash my hair and have it cut, I started going to Mark Andrews at Hairology Margate as he is a specialist in hair cuts to disguise balding. He sold me Moroccan Oil products which in conjunction with the Minoxidil and Finasteride from Vinci have really helped the growth of my new hair.
I am so pleased that I chose to do my transplant through Vinci, the care and attention I have received from the team has been immense. The care was fantastic pre op, on the day and post op. I had regular checkups after the operation to see how I was recovering and regular monitoring to check the progress made.
Now 9 months on, my only wish is that I had done it two years earlier. Since having the transplant, I have felt so much more confident. I have been in a relationship and had a promotion at work. You would not believe how much a hair transplant changes how you feel about yourself. If you are thinking of having a hair transplant, do it! Sooner rather than later.
Here are some pictures.
