Hi Hassler

Wow the growth rate is incredible. Typically normal hair (not new implanted hair) grows at a rate of around 1.25 cm per month for a healthy male. Your hair looks to have really taken off running. Really pleased for you and can't wait to see the final results in a years time.

Has your Doctor given any reasons why you have such phenomenal growth?

Hi,
I met the surgeon (Edward Ball) and his senior patient adviser (David Anderson) for my 6 month checkup a few weeks back and we all pretty much agreed it's because........well........"I'm a freak".
In all seriousness, I just think I'm at the lucky end of the scale when it comes to how quickly growth comes through, but in particular, and with reference to the normal HT graft cycle of shed, wait, and regrow, I petty much skipped the first two parts and went straight to regrow for a significant amount of the grafts (not all, but a lot). On top of the hair I already had, that gave the appearance of a full result very quickly, although it has definitely kicked on in the last two months.
This was me last weekend, very strong sunlight outside, so gives a great view of the result. Hair is now longer, so not in that "sticking up" phase when I posted last.

Hi All,

David Anderson has kindly returned my latest 6.5 month pics that I had taken at the clinic in Portsmouth in February. One of the things you loose track of post surgery is what you were like prior to the procedure, so this strip of photos are a great example of the before/after difference.

The LH side pics were the ones taken from my initial consultation in June 2017, and the RH side shows the result at 6.5 months post op. My hair is a very similar length in the before/after and we've tried to mimic each pic taken in June last year with a post op pic taken in exactly the same way and from the same angle. I am genuinely shocked at the difference. I was unsure how my particular type of hairloss (I'm a diffuse thinner) and hair characteristics would lend to an end result, Dr Ball indicated the biggest challenge would be my dark hair/light skin combination, but the result is there for everybody to see.

The patience, care and attention to detail that went into working in and around my existing hair to produce this result is nothing short of exception. It doesn't happen by accident, I'm sure of that, it takes a meticulous and unrushed approach that you only get with a 1 patient per day service.

It looks brilliant. Your experience with the clinic is what everyone deserves, unfortunately it won't happen.

Diffuse thinners do need careful planning which has been addressed for you. At 6.5 months it`s looking great, nice density, nice natural hairline and more to follow.
Enjoy that new hair.

Thanks for the update.

Very well written Dr Maitland. Exceptional.

It is very difficult for me not to sound like a walking advert for the clinic, because I'm just so darn impressed with the work that they do, and how they go about doing it, but I can confirm the doctor had no input into anything I wrote above (his only input was into the result you see in the pictures).

To supplement the Maitland pics above, here are a couple of latest pics taken by me today, now heading towards 8 months post op.........

Hi Reddude. Was this a compliment or an accusation? It reads like the latter.
Hasslers comments are his own and he is simply expressing his experience.

Hi Hassler,
It €™s great to see you progressing so well! I knew you came in at 6 mos but I hadn €™t had the chance to view your 6 mos results till now. You €™re posting a nice photo journey and I €™m glad you added the photo taken outside too. A lot of people feel the natural sun light shows true hair density.
Thanks once again for posting about your experience with The Maitland Clinic. We know everyone gets busy so we appreciate you taking the time to take the photos and share them!
Hope to see you at the 1 yr mark.

Thanks Dazzster, couldn €™t agree more. If there was one thing I learned during my lengthy period of research it €™s that while all clinics might execute the same basic clinical procedure (whether it €™s FUE or FUT)....they do so under completely different procedural protocols, and levels of patient care and commitment, not to mention surgical skill. The result is a vast array of differing outcomes. Buyer beware.

This is one of the best results I've seen.

I've noticed that people who start finasteride/Propecia/Avodart before the procedure, who have never taken it before, tend to have seriously impressive results.
