Being a world leading, state-of-the-art hair restoration surgeon requires a constant and devoted will to be always up-to-date about the latest news in the field.
This will most often translate into the participation at international congresses, such as the one which took place in Curitiba, Brazil, from the 24th until the 27th of August 2016, organized by the ABCRC (Brazilian Association of Hair Restoration Surgery - ABCRC abcrc.com.br).
More than 250 people including subscribers, ABCRC members and international hair restoration surgeons attended the conferences, presentations and debates held during the four days of the congress.
The international Lecturers team who attended the congress consisted of, among others, Dr. Alex Ginzbrug, Dr. Jerry Wong, Dr. Josè Lorenzo, Dr. Ronald Shapiro, Dr. Alejandro Chueco and, last but not least, Dr. Emorane Lupanzula.
During the four days of the congress the attendees have examined and debated about a multitude of aspects related to hair restoration, ranging from more general topics such as the never-ending diatribe around FUE vs FUT, the importance of a medical treatment before and after the surgery, or the analysis of donor and recipient areas, to more specific debates concerning for instance eyebrow transplant using body hair, how to differentiate scarring vs non-scarring alopecia or the limits between the safe and unsafe parts of the donor area.
In this context of highly sophisticated and qualified debates, we are proud to announce that, thanks to his presentation "Burned scalp: Repair by Manual FUE", Dr. Lupanzula has been awarded with the prestigious Marcelo Gandelman prize - instituted to honour the best scientific work - to recognize his proven experience in repairing cicatricial (scarring) alopecia by means of FUE technique.
