1124 grafts by Bisanga

Hi Topcat

I'm booked and all set to go back in a couple of months time. Plan is for approx same no of grafts as last year, ie about 500 scalp and 600 beard. Dr Bisanga would probably be able to do around 2000 if I shaved, but that is a pretty big issue for me as you can see from the photos. So, I'd rather still go slow on this and see some improvement, than go all in and leave myself and everyone around me in grief for the next 6 months..... Take care

Photos sometimes don't tell the whole truth.... Looking at the pre-ops on top I agree with you, doesn't look to bad at all. But there is scarring there for sure, flap scar on both sides down the temple all the way to my ears. There's been some repair with grafts, but is still an issue and very visible when haired combed back. Hairline: I guess if any luck at all struck me in this process, it's been that the hairline was always left high and "mature". The marking pen hides the pluggy look to some extent, though. Also, there is considerable pitting going all the way to the top of my forehead. Pluggy look an lack of density therefore meant I had to comb forward to hide the hairline. You get an idea of the lack of density if you check the post-op pic checking the right hand side of my forehead (remember, this is after Bisanga). Bisanga used the 500 scalp hair to increase the density in the front so that the pitting is less visible which allows me to style it differently. Sure the 3000 or so grafts behind there helps out too, but It didn't help much until Bisanga tied it all together.

In fact I spoke to one yesterday who goes way back 10 years or so. We both seem to have come to terms with our experience and spoke about how sad it was as it was all so unnecessary. He no longer posts and has given up trying to help others but I send him my updates. It's like we are all brothers because we share the same bad experience but it's not our fault nobody was there to tell us.

Looking forward to pics at 12 months and are you just planning as you go or do you have enough donor to know what the next step will be?

The hairline after bisanga looks perfect .

The hairline looked fine before in my opinion, but looked superb afterwards.

Your story, and especially the emotions involved, sounds like my own. I just joined this forum, after discovering it less than six months ago. I felt such elation, just knowing I was not alone anymore. I had a bad transplant 20 years ago, and my once young, happy life turned dark, hopeless, depressing, fearful, etc.... I am new here, and I will reveal more later.
To Topcat, thank you for trying to help others. I have read alot of your posts. Thank you to ALL the repair posters, who all have been thru similar hell. You all are brave, strong, and an inspiration to me. Thank you!
