4,700 grafts Fue with Dr.Bisanga And Dr.Kostis BHR Brussels – [NO] FUE Scars !!!

Two months after a 4700 Graft procedure with Dr.Bisanga and Dr.Kostis, I want to share with you the amazing results of how the donor area looks like.

My biggest concern before the procedure always was to be unable to cut my hair short again after it. All my life I had a "Marines haircut" with zero-cut on the sides. Everyone always told me "Make no mistake, FUE leaves significant scars" and "you will never be able to cut your donor area short again after a hair transplant".

So, I'm attaching here some photos of the donor area two months post-op with 0.8 cut. Feel free to zoom in and judge for yourself.

The punches were done by Dr.Bisanga and Dr.Kostis combined, and 3100 grafts were taken from the scalp. A work of art at the highest level, Seeing and not believing, even my barber was in shock. I chose BHR and Dr.Bisanga because I was told its probably the best place in Europe and maybe the world. But even so, The result exceeds all expectations. Definitely worth every penny, when it's your head and your hair - don’t do the mistake of having a procedure in a cheap place.

Thank you so much for the write up. Dr.Kostis has been two years with us and has now through training and shadowing and developing under Dr.B has also copied the master, and his work is already pristine with extractions well spread throughout the donor and small punches used. I have seen some of Dr.K cases and they are impressive and I am sure they will post soon but the ones I saw were truly on track at month 5 for a knockout result and clean donors.

Hope you start to see good growth soon!

Hi H89. Welcome to the forum and thanks for sharing your story.
Those 4700 grafts should produce a nice new hairline that’ll frame your face and provide decent coverage to the frontal half. The work looks nice and clean. At 2 months you’ve healed well.
At day 20 it looks as though your grafts have continued to grow. Did they eventually Shed or have they continued growing?
The title of the post says 4700 grafts but your post says 3100. Did you have 1600 body hair grafts extracted?
I`m looking forward to following your progress from this jointly led surgery.
Alll the best.

Hi Bigmac,
Indeed, I am very pleased with the hairline design, Dr. Bisanga showed a lot of patience in drawing it to my satisfaction.
I had 3,100 grafts taken from the scalp, and 1,600 from the beard (right cheek & under the chin). beard recovery is also amazing, you can see it in the "day 20" photo as well.

about shedding & redness:
I'm happy to say that today, 67 days post-op, it seems that 25-30% of the transplanted hair has not fallen out at all and didn't even shed. On the contrary, it is stuck tight and continues to grow longer, I have already cut it 3 times.
As for redness, I had no redness at any point (maybe in the first few days). All areas already recovered fully with no signs. I really think this is the direct result of the gentle work of Dr.Bisanga and his team.

Thanks for confirming the graft numbers. It would be great to see the extractions from the beard area. I get asked quite a bit how the area heals and potential scarring.
Retaining 25-30% of the transplanted grafts will have helped with the post op recovery.

Beard recovery has been amazing as well.
When I looked at the beard after the surgery, I was sure its going to leave significant marks and scars, but I was wrong.
After only three weeks the area is fully healed, no scars remain, no color differences and pigmentation in the skin, no visible thinning in the beard hair density, a very good harvesting work.

Thanks for the additional pictures of your beard area. It’s not too often we see the grafts harvested above the jawline so I appreciate you posting them. The healing has been very good and not effected the look of your beard.
Did you apply anything to the beard post op to help with the healing process?

Yes of course. Dr. Bisanga provided me with a kit for the first two weeks that included everything I needed (shampoo, creams for the scalp, beard and transplanted area, etc). Dr. Kostis sat down with me and gave me a detailed explanation of how to use the each thing and how to wear the bandana. My consultant Marion kept in touch with me by phone all the way 24/7 for any concerns or concerns I may have.

I remember when I had my beard extractions taken from under my chin. I applied bacitracin which is a similar over the counter antibiotic cream to Savlon in the UK. It worked well to prevent itching and heal the area quickly.
