A microscopic look at micro-pigmentation.

This is a microscopic view (10x) of grafts extracted by an FUE procedure AFTER a micro-pigmentation (small dotted tattooing). The red arrows show the dotting.

I have no opinions as to what I see here. I just thought it was interesting and no one has taken pictures of this.

What do you all think and what are your opinions?

Hi Hair Tech,

Any Close Up Pics of the donor? Judging by this pic I doubt that these M.P Dots actually replicate an actual Hair Follicle in size.

Also I assume the patient had a previous Fue procedure at a different clinic where a larger punch was used?

What is your personnel opinion on Micro-Pigmentation (having close-up experience) Is it a viable option for Donor Repair Fut/Fue?

This patient had a micro-pigmentation before an FUE. He wants to go for the "shaved" look. He states that he may get a touch up after his FUE grows in. So this is actually sort of a new approach brought on by the patient. It is actually pretty cool in terms of furthering the options for the patient.

So in my opinion, in this case, I felt that it looked good. His crown and frontal third was pretty thin. The micro-dots created a shading as would a very good dura-match user.

What I thought was cool was that he decided to micro-dot his donor region also... so many or most of the extracted grafts had a dot juxtaposed (next) to a follicular grouping.

Hopefully some or all of the pigmentation will transfer to the recipient area thus adding to the shading effect. However just judging from the depth of these dots, more than likely the pigment will slough off with the epidermis. Who knows.

Good news is that I believe Janna is going to be posting some of his has with pictures tomorrow so you guys can judge for yourself.

Looks good imo. but only as an additional treatment to FUE, not a standalone treatment.

I think it will look even better when the patient can cut his hair tighter on the sides.
