A special story about FUE and SMP

Prohairclinic

Prohairclinic Scalp Micro Pigmentation
This patient (from UK) booked a hair transplantation. His pictures looked good and as far we could tell he was a good candidate.

However the day of his treatment we noticed that he has thin hairs and quite a lot of miniaturization even in the donor area. It would have been unethical to treat him as his chances for permanent shock loss are huge.

During the pre treatment meeting we strongly advised against a hair transplantation at this moment. We recommended that he would take Finasteride or Keratene Retard and re-evaluate his hair in about 10 months.
However it also turned out that he is a good SMP candidate and when we explained how it works he was very happy to give this treatment a try.
So here is a picture of his hair before and after 2 sessions of SMP. I talked to him on the phone last night and he was excited about the result of the SMP.
All good in the end, everybody happy.

Bart

I don't know if anyone is going to comment but, I sincerely think it looks like his head was painted.

It doesn't look great. But credit where credit is due. Prohairclinic have used a photo under a very bright light. They could have used a dimmer light and it would look a lot better. If the patient adds a bit of concealor and shaves the back and sides to a number 1. It will give the patient a result he would probably be very pleased with.

Maybe now add more FUE into it to give more texture. This might be a better combination.

Might look better if the crown was notably less densely covered

A shorter haircut would suit the look, more pictures outdoors with varying angles would be nice.

Yes, that is the idea, but as stated before he needs to strenghten his hairs before he can have a transplant with the highest possible chances for succes.

Strengthen his hair? By finasteride or Minox? And by the way who did the SMP?

My sentiments exactly, i reckon that unless you have enough hair left the longer look isn't right and a shorter shaved look is the only way to go.

Hi all,

Just to let you all know this was me in the picture. I just thought i'd stop by and let you know / explain my situation.

I travelled to Antwerp amid all the chaos in Heathrow, on the morning I met up with Bart / Sabine who explained that the pictures I sent and my current situation was totally different from what they expected. They felt it was to risky to attempt a FUE HT so we decided not to proceed. I have to admit I was gutted but I thank them for their honesty as some companies would just go through with the procedure for the money.

They did offer me SMP to which I was a bit sceptical at but it has made a massive difference and in my confidence. I agree with you all on here about the length of my hair and with this in mind I have shaved down to a no.2 blade which looks 100% better so thank you for the suggestions. I may even try the no.1 blade at the weekend.

I am taking finasteride to see if my donor area strengthens over the next year and if so i'll be going through with a FUE procedure.

Thank you

Drummer,

I hate to see how people can be aggressive in their comments. However this is forum life. Personally I think the SMP is better than without and I also think an FUE will add to this. And lastly I think you are brave to put yourself out there. Kudos to you.

Welcome to the forum Drummer,

The most important part of this thread is your happiness dude......and from what you have said you seem to be much more comfortable and confident in yourself following your procedure.

It's good that you weren't taken advantage of by having a HT at this time if you are not a good candidate. I think it looks better than before, but i also believe it will look even better shorter and would love to see the pics now it's been cut.

I agree with hairtech that with additional FUE will add texture, do you have any plans to add some FUE down the road and will you keep up with the SMP treatments.

Take care pal and thanks for contributing to the thread.
