Hi I was wondering if anyone new if hair transplants are discouraged if you were over a certain age or was it purely driven by the amount of area needing covering and the amount of donor hair you can supply ?
Reason I ask is went on the hair calculator on the hair transport clinic website and it goes from 18 to 50 years of age so got me thinking

There are lots of people aged 50 plus that have a HT. Not sure it only goes to 50 but 18 year olds should not be having a HT unless its related to some medical condition or accident.

Thanks for the reply Big Mac . Yes 18 would seem to far to young wasn’t sure if there was a upper limit

I agree. 18 very young - but people of all ages above that, within reason, can have a transplant.

If it is simply normal male hair loss I think it comes down to clinic ethics. Of course technically it is probably possible but does that mean it is right to do. As you age you look back how non consequential actions can be when younger., and not a bad thing, it´s normal. So sometimes a more responsible someone needs to check youthful eagerness when that can be counter productive.

What reasons would allow someone above 18 to have a HT?

24 is an age that some clinics will offer surgery. Every case is different and will be evaluated for suitability.
