Am I a good candidate for hair transplant?

Dear all,

Do you guys think I would be a good candidate for hair transplant? I have thick donor hair but the pictures are after I’ve had a hair cut.

Most places in the UK have said yes but a clinic in Belgium has said that my donor area does not have the density and due to the size of the area it might not be possible.

Any help from you guys would be greatly appreciated along with a clinic recommendation.

Hi there. Your donor on the sides looks as though you may have retrograde alopecia. Your crown is dipping/thinning downwards.

You could be heading towards a higher Norwood level. Are you on a hair loss prevention regimen?
What are you hoping to achieve coverage wise from a HT?

Hi Bigmac,

Thank you for taking the time to reply.

No medication at the moment. When I took Finasteride I ended up getting some bad side effects from it.

I was hoping for a lightly better hairline and to add a little more coverage to the mid & crown. But I am not sure if I have sufficient donor hairs for what I want.

You could consider one of the minoxidil options to see how you respond and possibly lowering the Finasteride dose.

Did you have in person consultations?

Nothing in person yet but I have booked myself in with Dr Farjo.

I will look at a lower dose or maybe try topical finasteride.

Ask if you can see any patients that had a similar hair loss pattern to yourself. Then decide if you’d be happy with what can be achieved If it is decided at the consult you are good to go.
Best off luck.

Based on your advanced hair loss, that you are not on preventative medications, that your donor region appears to be below average with donor thinning on the sides and the crown dipping in to the donor region in the back, I would not consider you a candidate for a hair restoration. I am sorry, I am sure that is not want you want to hear.

Hello
My husband faced the same issue. After consultation with Dr. Murat at Grace Touch Clinic he got a hair transplant. The results were amazing. Their packages are very affordable including accommodation, flights, guide, and aftercare. Patients visit their clinic from all around the world. You can schedule a free consultation.

@Amelia Clarke that is great to know. Would you be able to send me pictures to have a look? What was the cost for the number of grafts?
