Not sure if this has been covered here so here goes; What's the usual time period for booking a surgery? Is it best to contact the doctor 3 months before a planned surgical date?

Most clinics are booked up two or three months in advance so it's best to contact them as early as possible so you can make your travel and accommodation plans if needed and arrange your time off work etc.

Those time frames seem the average judging by the replies I've received from clinics.
