Buried grafts issue during FUE procedure

Hi

Recently i read an article on FUE extraction tools from a well known doctor practising in New york area. according to him, using extraction tools with 3 step FUE technique (for example Jim Harris manual punch tool) will reduce the transection rate to considerable extent when compare to 2 step technique. For those who don't know what 3 & step technique is -

a. scoring using sharp punch
b. blunt dissection using a dull instrument
c. extraction using forceps

In 2 step technique only a & b are used.

On the flip side the doctor says there is a great occurence of buried grafts in 3 step technique particularly in the step 2 - blunt dissection. if the grafts gets buried then they have to be removed manually during the FUE procedure. if they are left like that then it will result in cyst, which eventually have to removed by some surgery at a later date. I know cyst removal through surgery is not an easy thing.

I heard dr. Harris later on released a new version of extraction tool, which is a motorized one and with this the occurence of buried grafts is very very minimal. is this true?

i don't want to end up getting in to other problems while trying to solve one problem That too by paying money.

I appreciate if the forum members experienced in this aspect could share their thoughts on this.

IMHO burried grafts has more to do with the experience of the extractor.

When we train other instutes it is commen that at first grafts are burried for a variety of reasons.
However after showing the correct usage of the instruments and some tips burried grafts can be avoided without problems.

Burried grafts are relatively easy to resolve, but it takes many years of experience to extract blond-gray-curly hair in combination with very hard/soft skin or unstable skin types.

FUE is really all about extreem good hand eye coordination AND years of experience.
