Bye bye hair piece - Prohairclinic SMP

This patient had bought a hair piece about 6 months ago trying to hide his hair loss.
He never felt very happy with it and was looking for an alternative.
After a consultation with our experts he decided to go ahead and drop the hair piece in favor of SMP.
Luckily he had only worn his hair piece for a short while and the skin was still in good shape. We often see people with very bad skin condition after wearing a hair piece for many years.
He opted to got for the full shaven look and to adjust his hairline a bit.
In the picture you can see a line drawn where his native hairs are still growing.
We use a Laser (Cole instruments) to help us create a highly symmetrical line.
SMP opens doors for some that have no options left.

Agree with how badly the 'systems' can damage the skin, its often very tricky to work on these scalps, we recommend them to take it off for a little while before doing the SMP so the scalp but this one as you said hadnt been wearing it that long.

What kind of damage to the skin do the systems actually cause Salvar/Bverotti?

I wore a wig before having SMP, and Salvar is right. It can really dry out the scalp and cause heavy bleeding. This makes it harder for the skin to retain the pigments and cause fading.

I took my wig off the day before having SMP and they said I had one of the worst scalps they'd ever seen and took 5 sessions before getting a result I'm delighted with.

I would recommend anyone that has SMP after a wig to take the wig off at LEAST 7 days before having it done and moisturise the scalp 3 times a day.

Thanks Ian...Do you use everyday moisturizer or a special kind?..... and when everything healed after the SMP do you still moisturize to keep your scalp healthy?

Yes, I still moisturise, I just use normal moisturiser (nivea for men sensitive) then a bit of talc on top to stop any shine.
Before that, I used diprobase cream to heal my scalp from the damage that the wig had done, but I dont need to use that anymore.

Thanks dude, i would imagine that shine has to be an issue for SMP patients...what do you guys find the best product to use to help reduce this other than talc?....or is talc as good as anything*nl

I just use talc cause it's cheap and easy and I like the smooth finish it gives.
