Can a second or third transplant cause shock loss to the subsequent transplanted hairs?

I know through reading the boards that having a transplant can cause shock loss to native hair, but can a new transplant cause shock loss to previously transplanted hairs?

Performed correctly, there should be no damage to the previously transplanted hair.

I agree, there should not be damage to existing hair follicles if the sites are created using high magnification.

However, for native hairs, it might be a different story. Shock loss is known to 'hit' native hairs hard which may lead to permanent or temporary loss of these hairs. If we believe there is a risk for shock loss we ask patients to have prior PRP treatments and use minoxidil and finasteride lotions to increase the hair strength.

Thanks. What percentage of patients actually get shock loss to their native hair then if all protocols are followed and everything is done properly?
