Hair transplant regrets?

For those who have gotten hair transplants, I have some candid questions for those who have regrets. I see most posts showing great outcomes, however I feel that outcomes that were unsuccessful, are much less likely to get posted for obvious reasons. There is a lot of vulnerability to admitting the final outcome wasn’t as positive as expected. (I’m inquiring as someone who’s considering a transplant but also not so naïve enough to think that every result has terrific long lasting results).

For those who didn’t get expected results, do you regret getting your transplant and if so, is it because 1.) the results looked good for a short while but quickly got worse? 2.) it looks worse now than pre-transplant? 3.) can only style hair one specific way to look good? 4.) even transplanted hair started to miniaturize or didn’t survive? 5.) Something else? For those who were on meds such as Fin or Dut for years, and still had trouble stabilizing prior to transplant, when you got your transplant, did the transplanted hair remain stabilized even if native hair didn’t?

My first few HT`s were unsuccessful due to poor choices and not enough research. However, I persevered and eventually ended up very happy. The reasons you list are valid and effects a certain percentage of the patients.
What is your biggest concern?

My biggest concern is that I can't seem to stabilize even though I've been on oral Min and oral Dut for several years.

Regrets indeed, and feelings of being used and let down. Shouldve never fell for the marketing and assurances etc. havent been the same since and just hoping to be happy before i die. The repair may have some challenges and now requires a lot of brainwork on how to proceed. Was told I am repairable and someone will fix but havent had much luck finding who. Ive had ridging and some raised tissue in hairline as well as some density losses in back if donor. Constant use of and reliance on toppike even though it looks unnatural caked on when i go out in public. It seems to be this ritual i have to do daily is to wash hair then dry then toppik then go out, just applying it takes 15-20 min of my life as i have to do it using a pump spray. Ive spent thousands of dollars in products to conceal. And if it rains in morning when i get hom or go to pool then i gotta go abck home and do it again if i need to go out at night at any event.

As a war Veteran too, i didnt deserve any of it. It impacts not just your own life but your families. You dont want to be in pictures or etc. You try to be happy and spend time with your kids, but it hurts when folks stare at your acalp and not your eyes. Especially, after having high density procedures. Always try to support others but got no support myself— i mever want another human being hurt, taken advantage of, disfigured, ripped off, or left with issues when it comes to surgeries— try to support all because the suffering is immense and it takes a toll on you physically as well, not only emotionally. Just hoping one day my the situation is resolved and i can be at peace.
