I’m 23 years old and I’ve been worrying about my receding temples for the better part of 3 years now. Not only am I extremely predisposed to MPB (Dad is a norwood 7, Uncle is the same. Both male cousins bald) I am also addicted to Kratom, which I have came to realize contributes to hair loss in both men and women. Would it be a bad idea to start finasteride while taking this shit daily? It’s been daily use for the last 4 years..

I have a 90 count bottle of 1mg pills that I’ve been too scared to take for the last few months. Please give your honest opinions about my hair situation. I’ve only noticed the temples receding HARD, beyond that my hair is pretty thick. I’ve ALWAYS had a huge forehead, but I can’t lie to myself about my temples receding any more.

This haircut is the only one if found that works to hide my recession, but when the wind blows I’m left irritated and exposed as hell.

Are you able to give up the Kratom or cut down on its use?
With it being herbal I would think it’s safe to take with Finasteride but you’d need to confirm this with a medical professional.

Your temples have receded a bit but your hair still looks good. Me personally, I’d stop the Kratom and give the Finasteride a chance. Stay on if a few years to see how effective it is at slowing down any potential loss.
