Can you shave daily if you have a combination of SMP and FUE?

This is a purely hypothetical question. If a person has a combination of both SMP and FUE together, can it damage your transplanted hair in any way if you shave or buzz down every day or every couple of days?

I can't see it being a problem if you shave it after ten days, you probably will have a lot of redness still. If you're shaving with a razor you may have to wait longer in case it causes irritation.

Sorry Bigmac i don't think i explained my question correctly. What i meant to say was, if a man has had both SMP and FUE at some point in his life, could it damage his transplanted hair in any way if he later choses to shave every few days?

I would say no but I`m no authority on this. Maybe someone who has had both procedures or a practitioner can answer.

I would say - No. Particularly, if you are cutting your hair with a clipper and just trimming the hair above the skin you would not be causing any damage.

But, keeping your clipper blades clean, sharp and sanitized never hurts. Many people think that they do not need to clean their clippers because they are not sharing them. But, they still collect bacteria if the debris is not removed after each use. And, when the blades are dull we tend to apply more pressure = infection. Happens more often then we think about and it's an easy fix!

There was a guy on here at one point called Oscar and he had both procedures done dude, never heard him mention anything negative about clipping the hair regular. I can't logically see any reason why it would damage your hair as its the same hair as the back....just moved to the top.

Nicole i must admit i'm guilty of not always cleaning my clippers properly, and up until now have never really thought about your points regarding the cleanliness of clippers....makes perfect sense though to avoid infections and i'm going to make sure i clean them properly from now on.....especially as they get used a lot on other male family members too;)

This is good advice, no different to the blade used for shaving your beard, some skin complexions are more susceptible than other but it can be a cause of folliculitis.

And from the point of having both FUE/SMP as has been said there is no reason why regular shaving should be an issue; in some circumstances it is important to ensure the best cosmetic result is achieved and there is no variant between the SMP and hair growth.
