Chest pain using Minoxidil

Has anyone experienced chest pain when using Minoxidil? It`s happening to me, plus my face swells up. It is so frustrating as I was beginning to strengthen my hair with less shedding when I shower. Now I`ve had to stop using it.
What topical can I take which will not cause chest pains and provide the same benefits?

Hello James.
I think I recall my heart racing somedays when I applied Minoxidil liquid but not actual chest pain. Face swelling is a more common side effect that I know a few people have suffered. Stopping its use was probably wise.
What strength was the Minoxidil?

Thanks for the video, the side effect studies were interesting. I`m thinking of trying products that don`t contain Propylene Glycol. What are your thoughts on this?

It could be the Propylene Glycol that attributed to it. It could be worth trying to see what happens.
What was the strength of the Minoxidil you were using?

It was 5% extra strength.

I know some people lowered theirs to the 2% strength which may be an option.
You could try one of the Topical Finasteride that does not contain Minoxidil.
Have you been to see your family doctor for an examination just in case you have an underlying issue that was triggered by the Minoxidil?

I would agree that making an appointment to get checked out is something you should probably do.

If I'm not mistaken wasnt it originally a blood pressure medicine....maybe its affecting your BP and causing the pain...just a theory? I've read in a small percentage of people it can increase your Heart rate and cause chest pain too dude.

I think it's better to get proper consultation from a physcian about it..
