JUST need to get my thoughts down as I really am feeling so overwhelmed after wanting a transplant for so long. I was all set to go before the pandemic set in, and now my finances are not what they were, and am very uncertain as to what they will be this year.
This has given me time to reflect on whether I want to spend upwards of 7 grand on a transplant. I was deadset on using the Maitland clinic in Portsmouth, however having been through their before and afters over and over, I cant help thinking the hairlines are a little bit too 'triangle', it would not suit me at all. I also have a friend who used them and isnt overly happy as his hair barely looks any different than how it was before! He paid close to 8 grand, so really you want a noticeable result for that amount!
I had a consultation with BHR clinic just before lockdown - I stupidly assumed it would be more affordable than the UK clinics, no such luck! Though they have a good reputation and I like the hairlines I have seen - which led me to even more confusion, as I have been quoted almost £2000 more than what I was quoted for the maitland (though it is more grafts).
Now to add to my confusion, another friend recently came back from Turkey after having a transplant with Fuecapilar - he said he had a great experience and also said 'why pay multiple thousands of pounds when you can get the same result for a couple of grand!' He was quoted around £13000 here in the UK and got his done at Fuecapilar for I think it was around £2000! That really is quite some saving, and makes me wonder why everyone does not go to Turkey?!
My personal issue is that I have a fear of flying which is difficult to conquer, I will also be wondering in my head over and over what could go wrong getting surgery in a foreign country! I can just about get on board with Belgium as it is only a train ride away.
Should I try and get over this fear of going to Turkey and get it done there? Could I get a plane straight back after having the procedure or would that be problematic to the result? Also I do not see much info about Fuecapilar on here, though from the little I have seen elsewhere online it seems positive....
