Hi

I’m 34 andI have been looking at this forum for a while. I have very minimal hair loss on the temples where I used to have cow licks but I have a naturally receded (since childhood) and a high hairline. I’ve always wore my hair down so nobody could notice but I’ve always been scared of light breeze or getting my hair wet. I’ve had an online consultancy with the hair dr clinic in Leeds but I’m terrified of having a transplant fail as my hair for the most part is thick and there is no hair loss in my family other than what I’ve already suffered. Anybody else in this predicament? I’ve heard great things about this clinic and I would love to have the procedure but I guess you can never guarantee the results.

Have you a frontal and top down picture you could add?
I would not risk lowering the hairline. At 34 the height is fine and you’ve lived with it for a long time. Possibly fill both temple corners.
Search around for temple corners only results to see if it’s something you’d like.
At your consult, have your hair checked for miniaturisation and the possible benefit of hair loss meds.

Thanks for the reply. Tbh I’m not really interested in hair loss meds as my hair loss is minimal and has stabilised. Combined with there being no hair loss in my family (other than temples) the risk of adverse effects from meds isn’t really worth it. I had an assessment last year with another clinic who inspected my scalp. They said there is no miniaturisation other than the temples and I was an ideal candidate for fue due to the quality of the donor area. I’m also dubious about HT due to scarring as I do like a skin fade. Maybe I could Pursue the temples only although my friends and family think I’m mental for contemplating a HT as I have (and probably will keep) 99% of my hair. It’s just the hair line thing that bothers me. Especially when you see these amazing results!

With any surgery there are risks involved. Did the clinic you previously consult with give an estimate of graft numbers to fill your temples?
You do sound like a good candidate if your loss has stabilised and you don’t lose any more.
I think your hairline looks fine as it is but only you can decide if you want to pursue this.
