This illness often begins during the childhood or the adolescence. According to
the studies, it affects from 0.5% to 2% of the population at different degrees
of severity.

When the disorder is important and the snatching is

This is good that this poor patient has recieved some help from you.....i can only begin to imagine her torment she must have felt after she had pulled out some hair. I have a friend who used to cut herself due to mental health issues and she always felt terrible after she had done it so i would imagine this was similar.

Got to admit i have never heard anything of Trichotillomania on the forum before. Thanks for bringing this to our attention and i'm so glad she has treated both her hair loss and her condition.

How common is this condition as my niece pulls her hair out, Are there any preventative measures to help before her hair is lost permantly?
