DHI Donor Area Issue

Hi all, just wondering if you have any advice.
I am looking to get some hair restoration done with DHI.
I am concerned that the back of my head will be less dense as this is where they are taking the hair from to start with.
The work I need doing at the front is quite small in the grand scheme of things, just a touch up above the temples.
Any advice or experience?

Should hardly be noticeable to look at unless you really look up close when the hairs shaved really short and you shouldn't notice much of a difference in density of the donor unless have really poor donor. Ive had more than that taken via FUE and it isn't noticeable you should be fine bud.

As bullitnut says, there shouldn't be any real noticeable difference after a thousand grafts as long as they're extracted correctly. That's a pretty small procedure and even if you keep your hair really short I wouldn't expect there to be any real visible difference afterwards.

Thanks for the feedback by the way. Most people I have told when I mention that I am planning on getting the work done, say I don't need it? This is now putting doubts in my mind and I am wondering if I should hold off. My main concern is that I have my hair quite short on the back and sides, and I don't want the donor area to be the new 'bald' patch.
Any thoughts?

You should have no problem keeping your hair short after your procedure. It's only 1000 grafts. To give you some perspective, I've had around 7000 grafts removed from my donor region over the years (both strip and FUE), and can still keep my hair short without any evidence of thinning.

As for whether you NEED a transplant, well that's subjective. If it bothers you (and you wouldn't be on here if it didn't) then it's probably worth doing. Always think long term though. If you're not taking any meds, it might be worth considering finasteride to attempt to slow or even halt your hair loss. Not sure if you've had a consultation yet but this can be discussed with the doctor then.

How old are you and do you have any thinning in other areas?

35 and everywhere else is fine

It`s a decent age to have an HT but only you can decide if you really want it. Your hair looks ok to me, a little receded but age appropriate.
