Do SMP clinics use any magnification during a procedure

Just a quick question to all the SMP clinics. Do any of you use any kind of magnification doing the procedure?

If not then how easy is it to do the smp on a guy who still has some hair, like a diffuse thinner or a guy who has had a previous HT.

I am curious because i think a lot of people would be put off this type of procedure if they had spent thousands on a HT, and they felt the SMP person was not taking proper care into protecting their investment during an SMP session.

Just a thinking out loud so if it's been answered already or is a silly question please don't take offence SMP guys.

Mine didnt use any and I did ask him this question - my 1st session was easy as I had no hair left on top so it was "Virgin ground" so to speak - he asures me he will be very accurate on Monday (my 2nd ) treatment . I suppose if it was me doing your head id have to wear my reading glasses at least .

Usually during the second or third treatment we use magnification for the final touch up.
Since our staff has been using the magnification routinely for many years they have no problems.

Thanks sabine, i would have thought it more common procedure to be honest if a guy already has hair and wanted to create more density.....glad to hear you guys use it though.

We use Zeiss loupes. I know Milena was interested in using them too when she was at our clinic.

It never hurts to have a better view with magnification.

Thanks Janna, I agree it never hurts to use them too and for someone who has so much money invested in their hair i thought it would have been a major concern of most patients to be honest.

To magnify the area would be the best approach in my opinion to create a more natural look.

Janna,

When will Shapiro Medical be posting results from SMP patients? Have you not been doing the procedure since January? I don't even see it on the website.

I happened to see a small part of an SMP procedure whilst at SMG and it looked very impressive.

It was a guy who had an FUE procedure with another clinic and wanted to have his hair shaved short but wanted the look of more density.

We were still learning in January and we didn't get the machine until April. We are taking it very slowly. We've been getting feedback from Jotrontic on their experiences with it since they've been using it longer. We've mainly done scars and thickening effect. We haven't done that many patients. Instead of posting just the pre treatment and immediately after treatment, we wanted to see how it looks with the ink settled (2-3 months out). Unfortunately, it's really difficult to get good comparision pics. We're still really in the trial period with our SMP use, therefore, we didn't want to announce that it's available on our website until we're sure what direction we want to go with SMP.
