Does LLLT actually work?

Does anyone have any experience with Low level laser therapy (LLLT)? I always thought that it was nonsense, but I notice that some clinics -- like Maitland & Farjo -- either offer it or sell the devices.

LLLT source has been used for many years as a hair loss treatment. With the basis to have a positive effect on cell reproduction within the skin surface and hair follicles. As with any treatment, results are often subtle. They take time and require consistent use. Laser therapy often requires use every other day with each session around 25 minutes. Especially over the first months of use. The application of LLT varies and this may affect how effective the treatment can be.

The two other well-known treatments have many more documented cases and medical articles detailing their use and findings. Also, as with other well-known hair loss treatments, often results appear to improve when used in combination. Of course, this can make it harder to judge the dominant treatment. The earlier they are used with regard to the hair loss pattern and age. The treatment, like others, is often more effective.

There are many forms of LLLT. As a result, results can vary. The cost can also vary for seemingly the same product. With the cost difference being twenty or thirty times greater than some models available online. They can easily be repackaged. It´s suggested to research the manufacturer and the claims made. Features and benefits, along with any claims of being certified or approved, including who by. The treatment should not automatically be dismissed. But does require research and understanding of what is possible. Hope this helps a little.

Thanks NZK Medical. I think that ultimately I'll need go for surgery, but it is a last resort, & I'd prefer to exhaust my other options beforehand. I just don't want to waste my time with snake oil & quackery. I've seen some surgeons -- like Dr Feller -- dismiss everything but surgery, finasteride, & minoxidil as pure bull, but others -- like Maitland -- offer additional treatments.
