So here are my 1 month post op pics. I €™ve shed quite a few of the transplanted hairs in my temporal areas, but still have a few short soldiers still hanging on. I €™m also visibly pink in these areas which I know is pretty normal at this stage in the game. In the 4th picture you €™ll notice the red mark on the top of my head. This is where I accidentally bumped it outside at night. Thankfully its already started to scab up and I don €™t think its effected any transplanted graphs. It still sucks though because I €™ve been really careful I wish it happened when I had more hair, it would €™ve hurt less! Please feel free to ask any questions or tell me what you think.

Hi Dodger,it all looks normal and right on track.Some peoples redness lasts longer than others due to their natural healing process and skin type etc.

Some members have reported that Aloe Vera has helped with the redness post op.

Shame you bumped you head,i think sometimes you are just too careful and the inevitable happens.I bumped my crown the day after my op.At worst i would say you may havelost a couple of grafts in my non medical opinion.

I would say you have a bit more redness lingering than the average patient at 30 days post op but you are pretty fair skinned. Even with strip sessions, I've seen the fair skinned patients' redness linger up to 3-4 months. Having said that, the redness gets better each passing week so its not all or nothing. Thanks for the progress update.

Hey guys and girls, here are my 2 month pics showing my progress thus far. I haven €™t got a hair cut since my procedure, but I probably will before my 3 month mark to keep the length consistent in each update. I €™m pretty sure all of the remaining hairs that haven €™t shed at this point will hopefully start to grow out. Please let me know what you think €¦See you next month!

Looking good so far.. Any signs of growth at all at 2 months -- even fine, wispy hairs coming out yet?

Also, are you using Rogaine post-op?

Thanks karmenelec, At this point i don't think i have any new hairs coming out yet. I do however have some transplanted hairs that didn't shed that seem to be growing out slightly. It's a little hard to tell though because i'm checking the mirror everyday! I am using Rogaine foam twice daily mostly on the crown. I'll start to use it more in the transplanted areas around my 3rd month post op.

How come you're not using Rogaine in the recipient areas? I hear it's supposed to speed regrowth (maybe)... In one of his posts on another forum, Dr. Feller swears by it and says it should be started after one week post-op!

Thanks for the update Dodger,at 2 months i can only see slight redness and no signs of any work done which is good.

As for Rogaine,i never used it post op and my growth was just fine.

i did actually apply Rogaine foam to the recipient areas 2 weeks post op, but it made that area pretty itchy. That is the reason i'm giving it a little more time before trying again. Thanks for the heads up either way!

It's all looking good. Appreciate the updates.

We used to recommend our patients going back to Rogaine 5 days after surgery but many complained of the redness and itching so we'd tell them to hold off for another couple weeks. We get far fewer complaints now but there will be some who have to wait longer. We like our patients to ease back into it by keeping an eye on it to make sure there's no irritation.
