Finasteride pre and post op FUE

Hi Guys, I have pretty stable hair loss and what I have had has been very gradual over a period of time. I am however looking to have FUE treatment to improve my hairline. I am not keen on taking medication in general, unless its absolutely necessary. I have been highly recommended to take Finasteride for two weeks before op and two weeks after. Thus to avoid or reduce the chances of shock loss, which is one of my major concerns (i.e ending being in worse position than when I started). Would welcome any advice, experience or thoughts on this.... Many thanks

Hi,
I believe using finasteride for 2 weeks pre and 2 weeks post treatment is not going to help you much, especially not in the long term.
In that case I would think a PRP treatment prior to your FUE will give you more benefits.

In any case, you can think about using Finasteride topically every day to keep your hairs healthy and thus avoid a second transplant.

I doubt 2 weeks before surgery will be enough time to prevent shock loss. You may not experience it, not everyone does.

Usually, concerns come about when placing into diffused thinning areas. The follicles are weaker, resulting in a higher chance of being shocked out. Who was the doctor that advise Finasteride?
